The calamari starter was really tough, the lobster spaghetti was quite nice but very salty and chocolate fondant with strawberries and ice cream was nice although the strawberries were unripe and hard.

Mid evening 20.00 The meal was good to eat but the portions were very large, the service was good apart the yound guy who appeared to be the maitre d', his attitude left a little to be desired and we were not the only ones to comment on this. however; we would come back to the restaurant in the future and reccommend to friends.

It has been a few years since I have been to Zilli Fish and as I don't eat meat other than fish, I thought I would give it a go again, as last time it was a memorably great night with excellent food and a buzzy clientèle with a few well known faces dotted about. While sitting at our table I was aware of a strong synthetic floral smell in the air that was horrible and I did my best to ignore. I ordered tiger prawns for a starter which arrived on a bed of this soggy piece of bread soaked in something along with one of those microwaved flannels in polythene to clean your hands with you get on a long haul flight. I asked the very polite waiter to take it away as it was all I could smell, even unopened the smell was really strong so I asked for a finger bowl instead. At least I had located the smell! The linguine I ordered was average as was my friends sea bass. The cheese we had for dessert was a mean portion but I loved the combination of honey it was served with. I am frustrated that a restaurant like this one can go off the boil like this one has. More effort has gone in to the ornamental fish tank, that I didn't like. It is a fish restaurant. I don't eat meat for ethical reasons so didn't want to see fish swimming around when I am eating them. The overall ambience and and style of the place was dull, and for a fish restaurant the menu was limited. This did go well with the lazy desert menu though. It is February and everything came with ice cream other than the cheese platter. As a typical Londoner I am spoilt and eat out a lot. £100 quid is nothing in town for a decent meal for two and I will happily pay it, but not here. I left feeling sorry for the staff as they tried hard and were very much left holding a jaded baby. Time to up your game Aldo ;O(

As soon as we arrived we knew we had made a mistake. There was no atmosphere for a Saturday night. We had to wait a while to place our order and when we ordered the wine it was not in stock. It was later found in the cafe. For a fish restaurant it had a very poor selection of fish. We decided to order one course and cut our losses!

Visited on New Year Eve. Enjoyed it! Didn't like the ordered wine ( not saying it was bad - we just didn't like it ) and then immediately we were offered to try another one... at the end we have ordered the third one :). Probably wine list could be improved but we definitely recommend this restaurant.

We needed a quick and efficient experience as we were going to the theatre at 7.30. We had made a booking for 6 people and arrived at 5.30. We were shown to our table and received prompt and friendly service and appropriate attention ie not intrusive. We had aperitifs, a 3 course dinner a la carte, plenty of wine but did not have to rush any of it. The food was very good/excellent and, we thought, excellent value for money.

We ate at 1830 on a Saturday evening so obviously peak period. The service coped remarkably well but we are convinced that more (too many?) tables have been installed since our previous visits , so it was very cheek-by-jowl dining!

Great for an after matinee performance. Still as good after all these years.
