Restaurant was very quiet and pretty empty. Shown to our table quickly. It's always very clean here. Not too happy about how you order and pay by scanning your table number on the app on your phone, not something everyone could do and the fact you pay before you eat is wrong. Waited an hour for our food, no idea why as it was empty. Food was lovely but then tried to order more drinks and it wouldn't work so called a waitress over who told us they had run out of both the bottled water and the coke. This was on a Tuesday evening while eat out to help out was on and What's Cooking must have been the only restaurant not taking part in the scheme on the Albert Dock. No wonder it was empty but no excuse for poor service.

Restaurant is fab always loved the food it absolutely delicious we came with our two friends.. the only bad thing we all didn’t like was the ordering one your phone even drinks so we had to stop eating to scan the app and order and pay and we couldn’t split bill obviously we understand why this is but just wasn’t very nice to sit on our phone we always say no phones at dinner and we will all looking at it to look at menu. But apart from that food service etc was all 10/10 .. just we didn’t like the ordering.

We booked an outside table on our visit to Liverpool. Having eaten at What's Cooking many times in the past we were quite frankly really disappointed with the experience. The restaurant has decided not to partake in the Government Eat out to Help out scheme, which we were aware of in advance but we felt that more of an effort should have been made to delight loyal customers under the circumstances.

Confusing and food has changed. When we entered the restaurant we were shown to our seats and that was it. We went to the bar for a drink and was told to order at our table. No one came round to take our order it was a little busy so we thought it was to do with that but after 20-30 mins started to wonder why. No one mentioned the fact we had to order on the app and it would be brought to us. So finally got on the app and ordered, I ordered garlic bread to start which was lovely! Then one of my favourite dishes Chicken papaousas and it was horrible, tasted like someone had put loads of pickled onion on it- it has never tasted like that before, the rice was so dry it was either sat there for ages or over cooked and the nachos were stale. I was so disappointed. My boyfriend ordered the ribs and there was a fair bit of gristle in them and they weren’t cooked right cause they didn’t fall off the bone like last time. We mentioned it to the server and all they said was oh sorry about that and walked away with the plates. So not a great experience which is a shame because it use to be one of my favourite places to go. One good thing was the service was quick and some of staff were friendly but unfortunately there wasn’t many good things.
