Booked a table for 7 mid afternoon on Sunday, a Birthday treat for my wife, on the way to the airport, could not have made a better choice, the staff are lovely and the food even better, a great start to our holiday, would recommend 100%

Rather poor experience. Tables very close together. Seemed to be run by young inexperienced people. Asked the barman to wipe the sticky counter and his response was "I'll do it later"! Asked for gluten free menu. There wasn't one just a folder containing the ingredients of every dish - not something I want to wade through on an evening out. The food was pretty poor and not much of it for 3 of us and then the gluten free gammon was huge and topped with two eggs which were over cooked and pineapple and chips. No vegetables for any one apart from small salads. Not much finesse or decent cooking here. Disappointing in what is an attractively presented venue with nice outdoor space.

Food and atmosphere good. Used to have Timothy Taylor's Landlord (since I first visited in 1993) but have removed it for poor second rate beers - now like Wetherspoons!

Lovely menu with some interesting choices. Very well presented. Good choice of wines and pleasant atmosphere in a rustic surrounding including outside tables in good weather.

Only concerns were the service; too few staff on duty - had to wait 30 mins for 1st drink at our (pre booked) table which was disappointing as it was a birthday celebration and we had to keep asking. No wine menu offered until asked twice. Drinks took a while to appear as did our bottle of wine - we had an apology but the reason being " we are busy" is not good enough really?. Staff worked really hard - and with a smile on their face- so no criticism of their efforts but this place, when full, needs much more waiting and bar staff. It was a mid week evening so cannot imagine how Fridays/weekends are managed.
