We went for the traditional afternoon tea and it did not disappoint. The scones were delicious, accompanied by the thickest clotted cream and flavorful strawberry jam. The cakes were great too. Service was attentive, even if there was only one person overseeing the whole lounge. Definitely recommended.

Had afternoon tea at the Royal Horseguard Hotel and can’t fault it. The lounge was lovely, the afternoon tea was great and the staff polite and attentive. We weren’t rushed and had a lovely relaxing afternoon.

Tea very good and staff attentive and friendly. The only down side was inappropriate piped music in the background. Very annoying and not at all relaxing as it should be for an afternoon tea.

Gorgeous atmosphere, delicious cakes, wonderful tea. From savoury sandwiches we had, prawn sandwich could be improved by putting less mayonnaise, in my opinion.

We had Afternoon Tea in the tea room, which is lovely and quiet. Service was very nice. The sandwiches were very good, but the scones were just average and the jam, oddly, was tasteless. The desserts were fine though nothing special. The biggest negative was the background music - terrible esp for a tea room! It was so annoying my wife and I had to leave before we wanted to - we couldn’t stand listening to it anymore. Some kind of new-age eurotrash synthesized tracks that grated on us.

Food quality was ok, too many scones which felt like a filler

Afternoon Tea at the Royal Horseguards was actually a surprise booking by my would be sister-in-law and I had no idea what was going to be there for us except that we will have British cultural experience of an afternoon tea. Our booking was at 4:30 pm but somehow we (four of us) arrived too early 3:45 pm. We just went in to ask if there is a space in case although our booking is supposed to be at 4:30. The lady said wait for 1 minute and I will come back to you, I have to arrange and clear tables first. I reminded her once again at 4:30 pm. Her 1 minute ended at 4:50 when she asked us to come in as if she was doing a favour to us. Then she asked for the booking which may be we failed to make her understand that we had booking for four (two booking paid in one group, third booking paid individually and for fourth booking the payment we will do here). Waited for another 20 minutes for another guy to come and ask same question about booking at around 5:15 pm (till then we were just sitting and supposedly waiting for the surprise). I explained the guy but in vain. I told him whatever you do, whatever your bill is, I will pay, just dont waste our time. He was insisting that there is no booking for four people. He left. I asked him to say sorry to my mother-in-law which he did but didn't mean it. Then the lady came again and we explained again. Finally at around 5:45 pm the lady brought the tea. And I poured tea to my friends. And, I turned to my fiance and asked, "so, this is the surprise?". Then the lady brought some cakes and pastries which was followed by the bill for which only one person was supposed to pay. I paid whatever was on the bill. Taste wise, I didn't find anything special, neither tea nor the pastries. Some pastries I found to be too sweet. Overall I disliked the treatment by the staffs. Nothing special about the afternoon tea (originally comes from China and was not a British culture). Too expensive as such. I imagine if one person can eat all alone.
