Beskrivning
In the leafy pocket of London’s Primrose Hill, The Engineer brings a streak of sophistication to the gastro pub concept. Inspired by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the legendary British engineer responsible for numerous engineering feats of the 1800s, the legendary north London pub also offers a secret garden area for secluded al fresco dining, with covered areas and outdoor heating for when the weather's less than desirable.
Highlights on the menu include pork belly with shallot puree & heritage carrots, gnocchi with kale pesto & goat's curd, and game, bacon & cider pie with green beans. Leading the tempting dessert menu at The Engineer is treacle tart with walnut ice cream. A children’s menu is also available.
With wood panelling, plenty of sunlight, and dimpled leather sofas you can sink into, The Engineer is a relaxed, informal neighbourhood pub with warm, friendly service. The bar boasts a top-notch range of beers, wines & spirits.
The Engineer in Primrose Hill is a 9-minute walk from Chalk Farm Tube Station.

Lovely pub but not happy with service. We were not offered the roast dinner which was the purpose of going there. The food we did order was very nice but the coffee was absolutely dreadful and I had to ask twice for water. I don’t think we’d go there again which is a shame as my husband loved the beer. The whole time we were at our table there was a staff meeting next to us. Upstairs was empty and I feel they should have had the meeting there.

Every member of staff was friendly and smiley. The service felt personal and the Sunday roast was great. The decor throughout was really nice and it didn't feel to over crowded or busy which makes a change from most restaurants in london.

Absolutely diabolical. Waited 45 minutes for a new menu that was being printed as they'd run out of certain dishes - after being told it would be 5 minutes. Had to ask twice when we could order then when finally presented with the new menu- all the roasts had been taken off. Would have been helpful to have been told this when we arrived. By this point we were starving and had a performance at the roundhouse to make so just ordered anyway. I ordered pork belly, my partner ordered shin of beef - both were tiny - literally - with a dollop of mash and exactly four spears of broccoli. And fifteen pounds for the pleasure. Summed up by the lady next to us when she said 'we were thinking of dining here... Until your food came out...' I used to live in the area and thought we'd give it a go - we won't be back - we'll stick to The Landsdowne, a lovely pub just up the road with a great vibe and lovely food.

I thought I booked a table in the restaurant. I will not go again to eat in the bar except informally. While the food was v good the ambience and lack of service was not what I wanted.
