A southern Italian haven on east London's buzzy Kingsland Road, Rotorino is brought to you from the team behind Dock Kitchen. The homely dining room, decked out with intricate tiling, warm Mediterranean hues and soft caramel leather, is offset by an urbane 40-cover bar, serving supreme Italian and international wines, and a stock of chilled native beers. On the Rotorino menu, expect a range of rustic, unfussy dishes, all showcasing bold natural flavours.

We were a group of seven and had a great time. Service was excellent, laid back but very knowledgeable. We were able to try an excellent bottle of white wine that wasn’t yet on the menu. Food was excellent - I particularly liked the hangar steak and all sides. The veggies were happy too with some really creative pasta dishes.

We went for the Sicilian Evening special menu at £28 and were not disappointed. The first course was a great start and then followed by a choice of pasta, both good, then hake on couscous or chicken or a vegetable option. Pudding was over generous after all that went before but none the less delicious. Needed a good walk home to digest the evening!

Lovely meal from start to finish. Fave dishes were the sage leaves and truffle honey and pistachio parmesan.
