Cafe/bar upstaire and restaurant downstairs. Coolness very welcome on blistering hot day. Quick and pleasant service. We started with prosecco and a cocktail. We chose a range of small plates including truffled arancini, squid, caponata and beetroot, walnut and goat's cheese salad. All were full of flavour. It was a perfect light and fresh pre-theatre meal and very good value for money.
Food OK service bad
It's always brilliant food and brilliant service. I recommend this restaurant to everyone I know.
booked this for pre theatre meal and told waiting staff this and was assured that would be no problem, well that's not the way it turned out as only received main course after 60 mins which resulted in a very rushed and stressful end of the meal and a race to get to the show on time.
Food was reasonable but service not.
It's an amazing deal, food very lovely. Service was very slow, but we had the time to spare - luckily
The stuff as usual was very friendly, the food is also very nice as alwyas
Really great pasta. The star deal was great value and I would highly recommend it. Service could have been a bit better, it was pretty slow for a lunch time session.
The starter of burrata was very good, but the main course of Bigoli with pork sausage meat was dire - totally flavourless. I was expecting something with a nice rich tomato sauce, not just a pile of sausage meat. It really was one of the worse pasta dishes I have had out in a long time. At £17.50 for two courses I would have expected much better. Furthermore, the on-tap Prosecco was not available so wecould not have the half litre carafe option at £19 and had a bottle instead for which they charged us £35. Also for a pre-theatre dinner the service was a bit on the slow side. We had to enquire where our main courses had got to and then also chivvy them along for the bill.
Generally very good. The staff were lovely. Food on the whole was great except the lobster pappardelle wasn’t seasoned. But one we’d added salt it was tasty. Starters were excellent!
