Took my best friend for afternoon tea for her birthday, we all loved it, lovely setting, fantastic spread, would definitely come again
Excellent afternoon tea, great service.
We had afternoon tea at the Hilton, islington. Sanndwiches were lovely and fresh and plenty of them: cucumber, ham, egg mini rolls, smoked salmon bagels. Scones cream and jam : 1 each. Mini trifles, mini macarons, mini cream sponges and some sort of plain loaf cake~ all 1 each. Tea was a bit strange as we all received a plain pot of hot water and then 1 tea bag of our choice. We could ask for more water and tea bags if we wanted.
One downside was that on a very hot day we couldn't sit outside, even though there were tables and chairs out there, and we couldn't sit near a window because there were 5 of us not 4 despite a virtually empty restaurant!
Quite expensive for a basic but fresh and tasty tea.
My dining experience was very good. I loved the layout of the table. The waiter was very polite and friendly. They cared about my allergies and informed me about the food. The slow cooked lamb shank tasted amazing and the desert was beautifully presented and also tasted amazing. The waiter made sure we were happy with our food and our experience.
Pls see below part of email sent, following them kindly sending me a discount voucher
Thank you so much for the attached and also for a very pleasant afternoon tea.
Even better than the delicacies served was the exceptional service that we received, from the moment we arrived at the venue.
The kindness and attention offered by ALL your members of staff was faultless and their efficiency and sheer friendliness towards making our 83 year old mum feel so special on her birthday, was exemplary.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Hilton Islington for their Champagne Afternoon Tea and wish to say a huge "Thank You" to everyone.!
Excelllent service !. It was a hot day and we asked to sit outside but were told they don't serve outside. Shortly after, we were told that the manager had said since it was a quiet day they could allow us outside as long as we sat near the doors to make serving easier. Staff were all polite, helpful, friendly and attentive but not intrusive.Afternoon tea was excellent. Fresh sandwiches and cakes and several teas and fruit infusions available. A lovely afternoon, I highly recommend.
I took a friend for Afternoon tea here after receiving a birthday voucher. The staff were helpful, friendly and relaxed. I had a small baby and they were very accommodating and helpful, the food was just lovely, just what we needed to relax and catch up. It's not posh but a lovely experience and one I would recommend for the value for money too. Lovely, I would return.
The staff were extremely friends and accommodating.
My group had a few requests which were seen to in a timely manner and the staff seemed more than willing to help.
One of my party was vegan and another was a vegetarian that also did not eat eggs. We informed the restaurant in advance and they said they would make a note. There was not vegan or eggless option on the menu so I was concerned what these guests would be eating
When we arrived the restaurant had a completely separate afternoon tea stand for the vegan and eggless option. Three tiers of sandwiches, biscuits and a beautiful fruit salad and vegan flapjacks - all vegan. Very impressed. The waiter took time to explain each tier and the vegans could eat it all with piece of mind that there was no confusion what was safe.
The chef then bought out a mouthwatering smoothie for the whole party too as a bonus. So we were very spoilt and very happy ladies.
For one improvement I would suggest that making vegan scones is very simple and would be nice to have had them as its a key part of afternoon tea. The cream can be substituted with coconut yoghurt. It just would be slightly more delicious than a tier of biscuits.
Overall the service and food was delightful. We left relaxed and happy
Lovely experience, really nice afternoon tea, good choice of food and very accomadating staff. Only thing is it was a present for a friend and I was overcharged (not charged the discount that I had booked with) so instead of paying £34 I was charged £48 I felt like I couldn't query this at the time as I didn't want my friend to know how much it cost.
A really lovely afternoon tea, the service was great and they provided a great selection for my mother (who is coeliac).
Great value for money and a lovely afternoon.
