Good set menu
When we arrived there seemed not to be enough staff and it was hard to get anyone's attention to be seated. In the end we queued at the bar to be seated, this wasn't ideal. We were seated by a lovely waitress and looked over the menu. We sat for 15 mins and were passed many times by waiting staff but were seemingly overlooked. The nice waitress that had originally seated us noticed we didn't have any drinks and finally took our order. We ordered food and drinks at the same time. We again waited 15 mins and then our food came but still no drinks. These came about 5 mins later. The food was decent although not very hot. I had a Sunday lunch but was missing stuffing but didn't say anything because I couldn't catch a member of staff. Food was ok but not enough staff with poor service. Wouldn't rush back...
Great service lovely food steaks we would have liked then to have been slightly more raw but still tasted good anyway
Myself and two friends had the fixed price lunch. The food was very good and we felt it was good value. We each had a glass of the Sauvignon which was lovely. The service was just right - waitress friendly and helpful. The restaurant had a good atmosphere. We will definitely be making a return visit ourselves and would recommend The Star to others.
Always very accommodating and friendly service
Excellent all round.
Food was very nice and service was efficient and friendly.
It was a pleasant meal but the waiter dropped a bowl of peppers in olive oil over my lap. They did apologise but that's all we got. There was no discount on our meal or maybe a free round of drinks etc.
Waitress was very pleasant, that's it! How does a 8oz piece of beef have no flavour, same with my wife's hunters chicken,no flavour, maybe they need to source a new butcher, our dinner guests had the same complaints, one had steak, the other had ham, which had some weird crust on it.not a great experience for £85.
The food was excellent, the service was very good and the company was great ??
