This was our 3rd. visit to the Restaurant at the Capitol and as before it was absolutely excellent

Wonderful fish menu with real interesting range of dishes - all beautifully cooked and presented. difficult to choose best course but the squid and cod were both outstanding. Relaxed atmosphere with attentive and friendly staff. Wine flight worked well and very good value for money

Had the 5 course tasting menu with wine flight - all for £60. Food was very good and the wine was well matched with some interesting (in a good sense) choices. Staff all very knowledgable and friendly. Just a shame that the restaurant will be closing and moving across town.

Great wine selection alongside the market tasting menu. Best dish for me was the gurnard with cauliflower in a jalapeño sauce. Service was top notch and we were lucky enough to have Nathan in the kitchen during our lunch.

Nice dining room and good location. Initial 'waitering' service was rather chaotic. We were sat down and given our choice of water, no menus, no wine list, no asking if we would like a pre-prandial drink. We were then left. The next event was the arrival of the amuse bouche at which point I demanded a wine list. Eventually a more (it appeared) senior person arrived and took our drinks order and he looked after us well for the rest of the evening. I'm afraid I 'smelled' the 'some staff can only do some tasks' problem.
The food was generally excellent. I had stuffed squid and turbot along with excellent roast potatoes with mayonnaise. My companions had puddings and were very complimentary about them. I had cheese which was pretty indifferent; this trend to serve local copies of (say) French cheeses just does not work; if,as I suspect' fewer guests are choosing cheese so a proper cheese trolley is not feasible then I would have a savoury cheese item on the menu instead (perhaps some sort of tart or a souffle).

Good was amazing and service was excellent. Had a great birthday meal for my Dad. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back again!

Unexpectedly excellent. The Market Tasting Menu with wine pairing was full of innovative combinations with perfect cuisson of the fish and other ingredients. Every course was delicious and the wine pairings based on non-luxurious wines (in price terms) was always both exciting and well chosen. In fact the wines were always served to their maximum effect. Fantastic value for money too. Well done!

The food and wine pairing was excellent. The squid was a little over cooked but other than that the food was outstanding. The waiting staff were knowledgeable, polite and charming.

We loved our visit to Outlaws. It has been my partner's dream to come and eat here so it was fulfilled surprisingly on his birthday. The staff were very friendly and had a less formal feel about the place which instantly made us feel comfortable. We really enjoyed that we received some canapes before we selected our courses from the menu. The duck and salmon starters were perfectly coupled together with the other elements on the plate. We do dine out every now and then at home however this is the first time we have experienced fine dining and left the restaurant with a full belly- the portion sizes were very generous unlike most other places.
The only little niggle I had when at Outlaws, although the staff were great, when I asked if there was a non alcoholic menu the first waiter said she would go check but never came back with an answer so I assumed she forgot but when asking the other member of staff he didn't know what it was (cordial/non-alcoholic) and when I asked for a mocktail in the end they still seemed confused and just bought me some lime cordial in a little pourer so i could add it to my water myself on the table. So maybe some training on the non alcoholic drinks menu as neither my partner or I drink.
We also really appreciate it when the staff came at the end and took a very flavourful Meringue with a candle it in saying happy birthday to my partner we felt very cared for.
