Great experience and well planned and prepared for during challenging times in covid superb food, wine list and very suitable for celebrating any special occasion

Due too Corvid we had a table in the lounge,my wife would have prefered the Dining Room. That said the tasting menu was up too its usual high standard,with friendly and efficient waiter& waitreses.I thought the drinks were reasonably priced for a 5 star establishment.

Beautiful setting we chose to sit in the garden on one of the hottest days in August. The afternoon tea was delicious and the service was perfect a truly wonderful way to celebrate a friends birthday. We drank English sparking wine, a selection of finger sandwiches, the lightest scones with homemade jam and cream. A selection of cakes and a wide choice of teas. I shall most definitely shall be returning and have been recommending to friends.

Afternoon tea was excellent, just what an afternoon tea should be. Sandwich fillings were spot on, no fussiness. Scones were great and the cake selection varied and tasty. The service was impeccable, courteous and only to willing to make sure your time was a bespoke experience. Location was perfect, tranquil and peaceful. The garden with the individual areas was ideal.

Wonderful Sunday lunch (2 course) al fresco - in the courtyard. All 3 diners going for excellent sirloin of beef main course, plus one of each: salmon; octopus or chicken liver parfait equally excellent starters. No room for desserts, having filled up on delicious home-made bread rolls.

A beautiful setting with delicious food,

Fabulous 18th century restaurant and surrounding buildings, beautiful garden area to sit outside.. SeaBream was delicious and well presented, Roast Beef dinner was plentiful and again delicious with very tasty gravy, staff were lovely and friendly

We came for dinner twice while we were staying in the area. It was our first restaurant experience after lockdown and we loved it. The social distancing and hygiene arrangements are well thought out, service was friendly and efficient and the food was wonderful.

Excellent. No other words are needed. The people, the place, the ambience and not forgetting the food and fine wines available. From the moment we arrived we were looked after, shown to our table and greeted warmly. The quality of the food is truly fantastic. In the current times of Covid restrictions, everything was extremely well organised, staff fully trained and aware and we felt safe at all times.
