Totally underwhelmed and extremely disappointed best sums up my experience. Bought it as a treat for my best friends birthday. Web site looked good and since we were shopping in Winchester, Norton Park seemed an ideal location. Firstly, we were the only patrons in the room (conservatory) and there was no background music. This meant that there was very little atmosphere that music and chattering would have brought. We were seated at a coffee table which meant the experience lost the traditional image and expectations of a 'posh' afternoon tea. In fact it felt a little more akin to a business meeting over coffee and sandwiches. The waiter was pleasant and polite. Décor clean and tidy. Food was acceptable but nothing to write home about. The sandwiches were very disappointing. Some were dry / crusting which suggests they may have been made prior to our arrival. The selection was disappointing i.e. we didn't expect Cheese & Pickle and the beef was inedible - thick and tough. Salmon good and the scones and cakes were fine. Which all-in-all sadly turned £25 per head for a fizzy (Prosecco) tea from fair and good value at the time of booking to poor value for money and underwhelming by the finish. I certainly wont be returning to Norton Park Hotel or recommending it to anyone in future. To make up for the disappointment, we have already booked the Ritz for tea next year.

Absolutely fabulous! Rarely has anything lived up to the photos on a website but the afternoon tea itself not only lived up to expectations but far exceeded them! The tea was delicious and the service was excellent! Can't recommend it highly enough!
