Showcasing fine dining in an enviable waterside location, Le Talbooth was established over 60 years ago and has grown from a quiet tea room into the award-winning restaurant it is today. Drawing from East Anglia's rich bounty of produce, the food is modern British in style and is served in a striking 15th-century building.

    Everything was absolutely fantastic. I only wish I could have seen more of the building, because our table was very near the entrance door, so we couldn't have a proper look at all the interesting features around. The service was great, and the food was wonderful, everything from the starters to dessert.
    I do have to say that they didn't have the lobster starter I wanted, so I had to settle for the langoustine, which was fine (even if a bit overcooked for my taste), but I do wish they hadn't run out of lobster, which is a pet peeve of mine whenever a restaurant can no longer serve something on their menu.
    For main dish, we shared a chateaubriand, cooked rare, which was done to perfection, and served with sauteed green beans and delicious dauphinoise potatoes.
    The desserts were also wonderful, and we were very happy with the portion sizes for everything, which were more than sufficient.
    All in all, it was a lovely evening out and I look forward to going again.

    Very polite & friendly staff. Beautiful & picturesque venue. Restaurant was tastefully designed and quiet to enable congenial conversation. Food was delicious and service was at an appropriate pace. Handmade chocolates to finish the perfect meal were divine. Would love to return.

    We had a lovely evening BBQ at Le Talbooth, perfect setting on a warm night. The choice of food was good, the spit roast pig and cracking melt in the mouth and a very tasty steak. value for money 7 or 8 / 10. Although some of the staff were obviously not regular they were very attentive and friendly.
