Islington Prawn on the Lawn

Was really, really impressed with the quality and variety of the dishes. All seafood was incredibly fresh with lots of flavour. Stand out dishes include the deep fried oysters and the Prawns on the lawn.

Excellent variety of dishes. The small plates are great for sharing and delicious and imaginative. The service is always friendly and relaxed.

If you like fish then this is an exquisite place to sample some amazing dishes. The service is friendly, polite, and professional.
The wine menu was very good and a very decent bottle of Chablis was a very reasonable price.
We had the Lemon Sole cooked in a traditional style and it was perfect. The homemade taramasalata was lush, especially with the seaweed crisp bread. My only comment for improvement was the puds which were a bit basic and could do with a little more pizzazz.

First time guests at the Islington restaurant so were unaware and not expecting just how fantastic this place is. Perfect evening, perfect food, perfect staff. Great atmosphere. Will definitely come again.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening with excellent food. Spoilt for choice so we had all of the small plates, even the new ones written on the board during our visit. Squid, scallops and mussels among our favourites. Potatoes merited multiple orders. Eponymous 'prawn on the lawn' our least favourite, but only because of the competition from much stronger dishes.

Popular restaurant and the food is consistently fresh and very good. We have been back a few times for this alone. Dishes are a little on the small side for the price so bulking out with the tasty fried potatoes is necessary. Very welcoming although at our last visit the service was inattentive and the kitchen was slow and forgetful - frustrating for a small (but busy) place. A well decked out, cool place to eat but given size can be noisy at peak times so not the place for an intimate chat. Good wine list but again a little pricey.

This is an absolutely exceptional restaurant. Two of us tried a range of tasting plates, all of which were flawless. Interesting cocktail list and the wine list is reasonably priced. The service was charming and efficient. It is up there with Traiteur as my favourite restaurant in the area. Not too crowded at lunch time but I imagine that it gets rammed in the evening so book ahead.

Great evening - I throughly recommend and look forward to returning. Lovely ambience, friendly helpful staff and the food was fantastic. Tuna with miso strated beautiful 0- we had two portions it was so delicious.

Fantastic! Can’t recommend the Schezuan prawns highly enough - favourite dish (although a difficult decision since everything was so tasty!). Great service too.
