Opened by restaurateur Nicola Marzovilla in 1994, I Trulli Enoteca e Ristorante is one of New York City's landmarks of fine Italian dining.
The menu celebrates the cuisine of the Marzovilla family's homeland; the region of Apulia, which forms the heel of Italy's boot, whilst I Trulli's wine list features more than 450 labels (all Italian with an emphasis on Southern Italian wines). Nearly all of the pasta dishes are handmade daily by Dora Marzovilla and the wine list is hand-selected personally by owner Nicola Marzovilla. Additional menu highlights include the Zuppa di Pesce (Lobster, Clams, Mussels, Shrimp and Calamari in a Shellfish Broth), Spigola (Black Sea Bass) and Brasato (Barolo-Braised Beef Short Rib with Gnocchetti and Roasted Vegetables).
