It's just not like other Indian restaurants. It's a stylish place and as far removed from the archetypal curry house as you could get. The cooking is genuinely authentic. And why's this? Well, Bangladeshis often claim they kicked off the curry craze in Britain a few decades ago. Sadly, they reckon their cooking soon became diluted. That is with the exception of Ginger which thrives on serving its true Bangladeshi dishes. The cuisine gives vegetarians especial bang for their buck. Try the baked pumpkin lightly spiced or the green banana curry - both delicious. And the menu is strong on sweets too, so try the Alle Belle, a pancake roll with squidgy date molasses or the Gajara Halwa a carrot fudge cake. To round off the experience, the wine and cocktail list is fairly above average too.
