Set in a beautiful Grade I-listed building, multi award-winning What’s Cooking? offers American and Mexican cuisine with contemporary twists. Guests can enjoy views over Liverpool’s historic Albert Dock, and bask on the al fresco terrace during summer.
The assorted What’s Cooking menu presents traditional American themed mains like the Scooby Snack: two 4-oz burgers with double cheese, double bacon, double pineapple, and an extravaganza of relish and cheese; and signature Mexican dishes like the crowd favourite, chilli con carne.
What’s Cooking restaurant pays tribute to pop culture throughout the decades of the 20th century, with a Sex Pistols canvas and a Marilyn Monroe portrait being amongst the diner’s vibrant gallery. A superb cocktail list features authentic American classics like the Long Island iced tea and Morgan’s spiced rum mule.

Great service, friendly staff and fab food. Both of us chose the same - Tomato and pepper soup, followed by steak with pepper sauce with garlic bread with cheese as a side.

Have been dining at GAD and all Whats Cooking outlets since the very early years . Congrats to Lee for revitalising the brand . Regards to Guy . Always has been my favourite place to eat ( even when I owned my own restaurant !! ) . Cheers. Phil Fleming

Service was very good food I had chicken salad but wasn't impressed it was just ok. One of the other persons in our party had ribs and chicken the ribs were cold and chicken was just warm. I have been to your restaurant a few times and found the food excellent but on this occasion it wasn't.

It's very geared to spicy food. Very little fish or light simple meals. Also I have a Telegraph Rewards card which is same as Gourmet Club card but your staff ,at first,didn't recognise it as such and Ihad to insist it did give money off and spoke to manager. I really think you should make your staff aware of this scheme. Also prices are expensive.

Very disappointed, we booked a table well in advance, arrived 5 minutes early, left waiting by the front door for 5 minutes, nobody acknowledged us despite several members of staff in the area, food was just OK but overpriced for what it was, we have been several times before, but won't be going again.
