Went for the Afternoon Champagne Tea - which was just what we needed on a wet January Sunday afternoon. Excellent service, lovely ambience and great assortment of res, sandwiches and cakes, A real treat.

Excellent experience. Food was delightful, environment and ambience very restful, staff very attentive. It was overall a really excellent experience and without hesitation recommend it to anyone wanting a formal cream tea. Nice being able to book a table in advance rather than turn up and hope for a table.

I arranged with Steven the restraunt manager to propose to my Girlfriend and he couldn't have been more helpful.
I couldn't have felt more supported and as per usual the service was perfect. Will continue to be my favourite place for afternoon tea and a special place for me and my partner

We visited for a birthday treat for my 89 year old aunt. I had requested on the phone that we would want to sit in the lounge area because my aunt is very hard of hearing and hard floors don't help with the acoustics. When we arrived the girl told us that tea was normally taken in the pantry - once I explained she kind of understood. I then had to ask for the front door to be closed because of the awful draught in the front sitting room. The chap then kindly offered to light the fire which was lovely. Overall the experience was nice but not worth the money. The sandwiches were a bit dull, bread too thick and too cold which masked the taste. Carrot cake was lovely as was the raspberry tart and chocolate cake but the lemon cake was so dry. Scones were too dry and the cream was so thick it was hard to manipulate onto the scone. The teas we chose were super. Didn't match up to the teas we've previously had at The Royal Crescent or Ston Easton. We haven't eaten in the restaurant, so cannot comment but wouldn't really recommend the tea at that price.

very enjoyable. Helpful staff. some initial confusion over numbers of afternoon tea but soon resolved. Lovely tea but would have preferrred more savoury i.e. sandwiches. 4 finger sandwiches. A refill or 6 would have been nice. A minor issue to what was a very pleasant tea.

Sunday afternoon Tea for 5. The afternoon tea, £30pp including one tea/coffee. It wasn't busy on our visit to the Bath Priory however the staff weren't the most attentive, at no point during our meal did anyone come and ask how it was or offer to get us any more beverages.. this seems a little bit odd concidering the price you pay includes a refelection on service and it didn't match up. One member of staff, who was stood by the bar during our meal, continued to look at our table (clearly not going unnoticed) it wasn't the most comfortable of experiences.. not entirely sure what the purpose was.
A variation of sandwiches were available mostly enjoyable bar 1 or 2 which had lost flavour due to overuse of sauce to filling. The cakes provided were well made.. the lemon cake however was awful to be quite honest. Had a very artificial taste and was dry. Our favourite was the strawberry tart with pistachio crumbs on the top.. looked the most impressive and the components accompanied eachother well and the textures worked well.
The cream tea provided was average, the clotted cream was solid. The Jam was very sickly, too sweet. The scones came plain and fruit, they were nice but weren't baked freshly and probably mass produced.
Overall pleasing however not quite satisfying. The service needs to be improved, waiting staff should do at least one check in during the time we were there- roughly an hour and a half. Front of house staff were slow upon our departure took a good 10 mins to get our bill.

Afternoon tea, food wise was very good.
However thought the service was not good, staff not really attentive, waiter disappeared and reappeared periodically and presumably the restaurant manager, was busy organising glasses in the bar area.
The doorman was excellent and came to the car with an umbrella in the rain and escorted us back to the car when we left.
Finally having afternoon tea in the bar area, not good.
