Great food. Such excellent staff! My guests were half an hour late - but did not phase the staff and we could stay as long as we did to celebrate a birthday. For which staff kindly organised a choc treat with candle. Thank you!

Forming part of the Serpentine Sackler Gallery in London’s Hyde Park, The Magazine was designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid. Head Chef Emmanuel Eger’s contemporary style of cooking, combined with Zaha Hadid's inspirational architecture, creates a distinctive dining narrative at The Magazine.
Emmanuel brings the Mediterranean philosophy of care for ingredients to The Magazine menu. Through quality selection and simple technique, excellent dishes are created. Grilled octopus, tandoori and escabèche or grass-fed veal loin, oyster mushrooms and tarragon are just some of the dishes on offer.
The Magazine dining room features a flowing membrane roof, and columns that flood natural light into the room.. Stunning glass walls also give the impression of dining in the surrounding garden, providing the perfect surroundings for Emmanuel’s cooking. Open from breakfast through to afternoon tea, The Magazine also serves weekend brunch.
The Magazine’s ultra modern bar is a destination in its own right. An intimate, stylish space for diners to enjoy a cocktail in the beautiful Zaha Hadid setting. The wine list showcases favourites from the Old World as well as German, Austrian and English wines, New World wines and a carefully sourced ‘Artists Series’ of fine wines.
The Magazine at Serpentine Sackler Gallery is a 10-minute walk from both Lancaster Gate & Marble Arch Tube stations.

Excellent in every way. It's a wonderful room, beautiful flowers on the bar and on tables. We code two starters each which were superb - imaginative, delicious and beautifully presented. The waiting staff were charming and alert.

It seemed like the restaurant was understaffed, I was waiting for 5 minutes watching the staff coming and going but no one stopped to ask anything. I sat myself down and a waitress told me "excuse me, you cant sit there you need to speak to the lady at front" Call me old fashioned but a "hello" would be a nice way to start.
I wasn't sure what was happening as no one explained, I eventually figured out myself I booked for the 3:45 afternoon tea and had to wait until all the staff were ready and then be seated. Poor time management as it was 4:10pm before I sat down.
The waitress who told me off was nice in the end but obviously the stress affected her. She's not the one to blame, if anything its a reflection of the management. In fact all the staff were nice eventually, but it should be right from the beginning. You need to have more staff.
The afternoon tea non alcoholic drink was much too sweet.

We had a very enjoyable dining experience at lunchtime at the Magazine. Foremost was the really friendly, polite and efficient service. The food was equally good, from starters to mains. The starters are fairly substantial but the mains were in line with that, and were not too much. We both had fish, which was moist, flavoursome and well-presented. The ambiance added to the lunch; the dining area has a spacious feel, added to by the roof height. Can't really think of a negative; the cost was very reasonable for a three-course lunch with sparkling water (cocktails were included in the menu price)

The space is fabulous; loved the attention to detail, and the integration of design and functionality at all levels. Waiting staff were attentive and charming. Food was very good and attractively presented (but then so it should be for the prices). Point of criticism: the absence of a la carte prices on the menu - the waiter said he'd tell us for each dish if we asked, but that is awkward.

Four of us had brunch on Saturday 24th Sept., having pre-booked a table. We had a wonderful meal. The food was innovative and very tasty, particularly the pea soup. The service was spot on and the surroundings interesting but unobtrusive. A perfect light lunch venue. We choose to eat at The Magazine because I was doing the Serpentine Swim later in the afternoon.

A beautiful and elegant experience - one of my favourite restaurants in London. I love the combination of dynamic space, set in the park, serving exquisitely tasting food, with warm and attentive staff. A unique treasure.
