A family-run eatery from Brittany-born owner Hervé Régent, The Lobster Pot serves sumptuous French delicacies. A South London gem, The Lobster Pot is highly praised in The Michelin and Good Food Guides.

Spawned from Hervé’s love of fresh fish and seafood, The Lobster Pot menu features the finest catches from top-quality suppliers. Offering a stock from Billingsgate and New Covent Garden markets, enjoy dishes like pan-fried skate with brown butter and capers, or meaty monkfish with wild mushroom and Pernod sauce.

Timeless French favourites are served for dessert, with offerings like hot apple tart tatin, or fluffy choux pastry lathered with chocolate sauce. Bringing boutique French offerings to South East London, The Lobster Pot restaurant also offers an expertly compiled wine list.

In the nautical-themed dining room, summery beachside charm shines through in the form of oceanic murals and weathered wood furnishings. The Lobster Pot Kennington is a 7-minute walk from Elephant & Castle Tube Station.

From the minute we arrived we were warmly greeted and seated. Our table was in a small section, but the front of house made sure that we were quickly comfortable by hanging jackets and offering to store bags. Our order was taken in a timely manner and shortly after another table with more space became available so the staff suggested we move.. We were quickly moved over with the staff taking care of wine glasses etc etc. We had the scallops and prawns to start and this was beautifully done. In true French style the sauce was amazing. The freshly baked bread was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. This was followed by the king prawns and the Sea Bass stuffed with lobster. Both were fantastic, with flavours just popping everywhere! We both enjoyed our meals fully and would definitely go back! The service was brilliant, we never had to wait or want for anything. Highly recommended.

A curious restaurent - but excellent food and fine wine. Would go back. Great choice of fish dishes. Best I've eaten in ages

Quite simply the worst dining experience my sons and I have shared. Seriously overpriced - mains around £28-40 ! Menu stuck in a seventies time-warp as is the decor. Fish soup over -salted and croutons for it arrived very late. Not enough balance in the crab starter. Overcooked razor clams were tough and served covered in almond flakes - weird!! Small individual vegetable portions with main courses. Who serves boiled potatoes??!!
The waitress kept leaning across me to get to my son's plates and I had to point out that she needed to say 'excuse me' - although better if she'd gone to his side of the table. The house wine was good but mineral water was £4.50 a bottle!! Cost for three with one person having two starters and only one dessert overall was £196.00. Value was £50 for the wine and £60 for food £6 for water so total around £127 including tip. Overcharge £70. Never again. Give it a BIG MISS!!

We had a gastronomic feast! Every mouthful of our 8 course special menu was a treat to our palates. I would love to return here.

A wonderful small restaurant with a few tables and a very traditional Chef who comes out of the kitchen, talking to everybody. Fab French style fish restaurant with an attentive service in a nice and comfortable atmosphere but not ostentatious.

We dined at 8.30 on a Saturday night and had pre drinks in the sister restaurant next door. We opted for the taster menu of 8 courses and a bottle of Champagne. We have eaten in many of London's top restaurants and this place deserves to be considered one of the best yet. The food was delicious, the service was perfect and the ambiance was relaxed yet perfect for the sea food offered.

Reasonable food. The fish soup was wonderful. The fresh fish was average - Dover Sole served off the bone and swimming in butter. While reasonably good, I'd have expected better at this price. The wait staff were attentive and helpful, and the owner sat with us for a while, which was good. Nevertheless, the overall impression was of a restaurant that thinks a bit too highly of itself.
