Excellent tranquil birthday lunch
02 april 2017
Hidden within the Royal Academy of Arts, The Keeper’s House offers modern British fine dining. Open to the public for the first time, this much-hyped London restaurant comes courtesy of the acclaimed Peyton & Byrne group.
The selective Keeper’s House menu champions premium produce and offers twists on classic recipes. Enjoy seared monkfish with razor clams and champagne velouté, or dark chocolate fondant with coconut and Malibu sorbet. The Keeper’s House restaurant in Piccadilly also offers a set lunch and pre-theatre menu.
Sip on cocktails in the sanctuary of the pristine dining room, or head out to the walled garden, which showcases oasis-style design from landscaper Tom Stuart Smith. Exotic mixes include gooseberry and elderflower with apple cider brandy, or blackcurrant vermouth with rye and beetroot.
A fairy tale restaurant in London, The Keeper’s House is 5 minutes’ walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

Very disappointing. No atmosphere. Perfunctory service by Eastern European steff. Food uninspiring. My starter of warm pork belly salad was poor and tough. I sent it back and chose an alternative which was acceptable although the pasta was not cooked. There was no apology from the management and to add insult to injury, when the bill arrived they charged for the full 3 courses plus a further £10 for an additiona starter. Again no real apology or offer of any recompense from the management.

housed in the impressive Royal Academy of Arts building the restaurant is in the basement. Quite an unusual place divided into small dining rooms. Quite a nice atmosphere as there were quite a few people there. Rather uncomfortable chairs! The food was good. We had starters of crab ravioli and smoked pork belly both of which were tasty. My main of hake with gnocchi was nice if a bit bland. My husband had the chicken which was lovely. Desserts of flourless chocolate cake and cheese were fine. The pre dinner cocktail French 79 was lovely. The wine was quite expensive, think the cheapest was £25 a bottle. We had a New Zealand sauvignon blanc which was £36 but very good. Overall a pleasant evening.

Really great food, atmosphere, and service for a very reasonable price for afternoon tea.

I had booked an afternoon tea for my mother and sister in law as a Mother's Day present. We were all disappointed. The bread was dry and the scones very stodgy. Just tasted of fat.

Small elegant decor, dark green, interesting artefacts on walls, very good service and extremely good food. Importantly it is possible to hear each other talk. The ecoustics are very good. Highly recommended.
