Good service which I appreciated as two friends arrived late. Our main course was served quickly and was quite good. The deserts and coffee were excellent.

Food was very average... they ran out of yourkshire puddings on a sunday - would imply they aren't making them onsite.
Service was pretty poor, they wernt exactly rushed yet seemed to consistantly take the wrong items to the incorrect table. A shame baceuse the view is great and the venue has a nice feel..

The staff member handed us menus while we were walking to our table. Only after our drinks came did the waiter inform us that the Sunday roast is sold out.

Very Disappointed-a la cartel promised but not available.Starter O. K. Main arrived plated like a 1970 's pub lunch with tough beef!

To set the scene I can just say we told the waiter to remove the service charge from the bill.
In short: food was average with some elements quite wrong (cold soup and the pasta type which was not the one written on the menue). Then the fun part: one hour before the ready made starters arrived; one hour and thirty minutes before the mains...
No apologies for the wait and the waiter was surprised when we asked for the service charge to be removed, he said "but you got your food"....yes mate, but you are not a two Michelin stars restaurant where you consume the meal in two/three hours.
Overall awful experience and regretted the time I booked this place.

The roast beef of Sunday lunch was overcooked. Meat was stiff and not tasty.

We had booked the restaurant based on the menus on its website. However, when we arrived we discovered that the menu was rather shorter than we had expected from the web and that the children's menu had been discontinued; instead children could opt for half-size adult portions for half the price. I believe that the change is the result of the arrival of a new head chef. The staff were very apologetic about it and were very helpful throughout the meal. The meal itself was of good quality and the portions were surprisingly large.

Beautiful setting but underwhelmed by choices for Sunday roast (beef or chicken with supplement charge for beef) and I've had much better beef. Not brilliant value for money as you're paying for setting but lovely light and airy restaurant and I imagine sitting on terrace in good weather even better. Also not much choice for single glass of wine or beers - although substitute beer on offer actually much better option than what was on menu originally. Waiting staff pleasant and efficient apart from taking a long time to bring the bill - this seems to happen in a lot of restaurants to be fair, food delivered quickly but bill takes forever. When I've finished, I want to pay up and go. I would still recommend but due to the setting and ambience rather than the food.
Diners complete mixture of people. Popular with people with young children as they're in the park and room for prams etc so a fair few young families but also plenty of older diners and there is lift up from museum or you can access directly from outside - so easy access for all.
