Sitting pretty atop the cliffs of Guernsey, The Auberge is a fine-dining bar and restaurant offering stunning views of the sea. Recipient of 2 AA Rosettes, modern British dining at The Auberge comes from Channel Islands Chef of the Year 2013, Daniel Green.
Thanks to its enviable clifftop location, fish and seafood dishes are championed at The Auberge in Guernsey. Locally hand-dived scallops feature marinated, pan-fried and tempura-battered in various different recipes on The Auberge menu, whilst local turbot is roasted with a continental chorizo and mussel cassoulet.
Not to be outdone, meat offerings range from local ‘porky’s pig’, with roasted pork fillet, ham hock and twice-cooked belly, to a succulent selection of steaks, served with hand-cut chips and mushroom and tomato fondue. Cherry-picked French and New World wines can be enjoyed al fresco overlooking the sea, or inside the elegant Auberge restaurant, which offers a panoramic sea vista from floor-to-ceiling windows.

My wife and I had another lovely dinner at The Auberge to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We always do as we are in Guernsey in May for Liberation Day. We had a very warm welcome and invited to have a pre-dinner drink while browsing the menu. Then we were shown to our table which, as requested, was by a window with wonderful views of the islands beyond. As we both much enjoy seafood and fish dishes, for which local specialities The Auberge is justly renowned (although they have an excellent steak menu), my wife started with a tian of crab followed by pan fried turbot and I had a medley of potted sea food followed by roast fillets of sea bass. All, plus the seasonal vegetables we chose, were excellent and imaginatively presented. My wife never reaches the dessert course but I just managed a scoop of caramel ice cream served on a crumb with seasonal fruits!
The wine selection too was excellent and for my wife I chose her favourite NZ Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc. It was spot on!
Service throughout was impeccable - attentive yet not intrusive. In our opinion several other first class restaurants on the island could learn from the excellent service The Auberge provides. Well done The Auberge and thank you for another anniversary dinner to remember. We shall be back next year!

Lovely staff who are willing and happy to help you but not interfere too much during the meal. Food was delicious as always and we were looked after well with the no salt, nuts and chocolate diet. Looking forward to our next visit.
