Rivea London had probably the best service I have seen and experienced in London in recent years. The attention to detail was phenomenal, and the food and wine selection was exquisite. Angelo our server made the experience truly memorable.

Lovely atmosphere: subtly elegant decor, quiet conversation and a chic but not pretentious feel. Serivice was good: friendly, thoughtful and attentive but not overly stiff, fitting with the broader feel.
We enjoyed the food a lot. One starts with breadsticks which can be dippe in a range of vegetables-based dips: both delicious and fun (as one can hide the descriptions and try to guess the ingredients); then some very good breads (lemon, which was amazing; tomato focaccia and brown). For the rest of my meal I had fish based courses, all of which were very good: marinated sea bream which was amazing and octopus which was good, not quite spectacular. For my main I had a cod with shellfish which I really enjoyed: delicate and perfectly cooked, well flavoured and complemented perfectly with the seafood and sauce. My husband really enjoyed his buratta and his stone bass carpaccio, but his beef was rather disappointing: tough and stringy. Overall we felt the food was good, broadly speaking of the category we would expect, though not amazing enough to be particularly memorable. The beef was the only disappointment.

Very discreet restaurant set in the Bulgari Hotel, Knightsbridge, very stylish entry and bar, also well spaced tables
The service was excellent, especially our Italian waitress. The food was very good. The vitello tonnato was tender and tasty and the Buffalo mozzarella had a very satisfying mixture of textures. Main course was a rump steak which melted in my mouth. For desert the Tiramisu was excellent. Throughout service was impeccable and the tequila cocktail set things up very well!

the small tray of dips at the beginning is a fabulous idea and all were delicious
the lemon bread was great - perhaps could have been warm as an even better touch
the only slight negative was the price of the wines which was extortionate, but the current special offer of £38 for 4 courses was amazing value

There was a beautifully presented, nine little capfuls of dips for the house made grissini.They all tasted like baby food except for the olive dip.
The welcome pearls drink was poor.
The bread was the best at have had in London. The salad was fine, but the mozzarella and puntarelle were in a dressing that was not very Italian--too creamy and did not have a charger plate under it so that the dressing kept dripping on the tablecloth.
The duck was done well, but could have come from any of the upscale restaurants around town.
The tiramisu had a gelatinous layer of coffee. Here was no coffee flavor in the biscuits.
Would rather keep going to other bookable restaurants than return there. Just not exceptional, just good.

The hotel and restaurant atmosphere and design are amazing. Service quality outstanding. The price/quality ratio of my 38 Pounds menu was good given the experience I had. Nice appetizzers. A few starters seemed very "basic"'to me (please do not offer a salad wrapped in a crêpe)
The seared foie gras, meat main course made my girlfriend very happy ;-)
Chocolate desserts were amazing!
I would come back at Rivea.

We booked afternoon tea in Rivea to celebrate New Year. We were very much looking forward, since we love afternoon tea experience and have been to many good places in London. Sandwiches were average, cakes and sweets were ok, a chocolate cake was good as well as the scones. Though the tea itself was a disappointment, tea is served in a 1litre tea pot and when you open the lid you see a 3g tea bag flowing in 1 litre of water like a small shuttle in a huge Universe. With such proportion there is no proper colour of the tea saying the list about the taste. The impression is that you just drink hot water. We ordered a royal bulgary blend, and the waiter when serving it announced it as English Breakfast. When we politely reminded that we ordered royal bulgary blend, we were told not to worry: "It is English breakfast with just fancy name, nothing more!". Really? The staff definitely needs a bit of training! To be honest, it was not worth 38 pounds per person. Disappointed!

A really enjoyable meal, with excellent service and wine. The deal we booked was good value, and we received excellent service. The octopus and bream starters were outstanding, as was the bread basket, which was replaced when empty, and we liked the fun tasting dips. Everything was beautifully presented in a lovely and relaxed setting. It made for a very pleasant evening, and we hope to return again doon
