Overpriced and over-complicated. Both `home-made` breads came soft crusted - and found them rather blend. Chose mushroom soup from specials - menu didn`t indicate it was cream soup. Tasted good but real shame not to have seen one single piece of the delicious autumn mushrooms. Mains: not being a meat eater, the Hake roasted with chicken skin, served with chicken consomme was off the list (what an idea to kill a delicious fish in chicken?). Opted for Stonebass - but without the hazelnut - truffle pesto (I find pesto hugely over used for no special reason, and it`s overpowering flavour really reducing the enjoyment of otherwise excellent fish or vegetables). Tried to recuperate the truffle in the form of Truffle mash - instead of the much expected truffle shaving, the mash was mixed with truffle oil that tasted and smelt of garlic. (fresh `real` truffle nowhere to be seen). The skin on the fish was soft. Desert: Caramelized apple with toffee tart and walnut - half an apple browned, but far from caramelized, toffee tart was a treacle tart with all its overpowering flavour, and walnut came in the shape of two very bitter -green tasting `ball`. Totally puzzled by the amount of complication that has gone in to turn perfectly delicious ingredients to a jumble of non matching or nor enjoyable flavors. Bill was higher than in same class London restaurants. No idea why..?

What a lovely little restaurant! Friendly service and fabulous food. My first delight was to find a delicious prosecco in a 175ml serving. So much better than 125ml, as it was my only alcoholic drink (watching my points). I started with roasted watermelon salad, just because I was curious! I was really pleasantly surprised and the combination with feta cheese worked really well. The pan fried bass was perfectly cooked, delicious and complemented by the creamy pearl barley. As the meal was going so well I ignored my usual rule of missing dessert. This is only because it usually makes me feel uncomfortable and results in a spoiled dining experience. I had the panna cotta with quince and Sauternes soaked sultanas, which was unusual and suited me as I am a fan of slightly tart fruit, but I prefer a red fruit topping if I can choose! It was great to try something new though. Why would I want to order something I can cook at home? Now usually I don't order coffee because no one can make a decent cappuccino, but I took the risk. Lo and behold, a lovely coffee was served, slightly too hot, but nevertheless a strong and tasty coffee with a good froth. See how discerning I am??!! Well done Tudor Farmhouse, your pretty dining room and comfortable chairs have ensured our return.

We enjoyed a full afternoon tea which was nicely presented and very filling! Although a Saturday afternoon we were the only people having tea which meant a rather quiet atmosphere. However the feel of a "private" space for our small group meant we could converse freely and make it a memorable birthday occasion. The service was excellent and the surroundings very pleasant.

Disappointed with the lack of customer service from staff. One staff member in particular was unbelievably rude.
Booked well in advance but once we had arrived, were treating like they didn't know we were coming. Despite me seeing my name in the diary.
Staying at local cottages, but won't be recommending in future and would not return.

The Tudor Farmhouse is wonderful destination. The hotel setting is beautifully kept and inviting. The dining room is a great place to relax over a meal. The menu is always simple and well supported by a superior wine list. We have dined here several times and always come back. The kitchen has never failed us.

Service was good. The restaurant offers more snacks than a proper lunch when the dishes arrived. Even main dishes were extremely small.
