With a beautiful ballroom as its backdrop, Raffles in Kenilworth is Britain’s first colonial Malaysian restaurant. Blending Malay, Mandarin Chinese, and Tamil Indian cuisine, Raffles presents an exciting and diverse offering.
Pan-sautéed jumbo prawns in a red onion sauce and steamed pork and prawn dumplings are popular starters on the Raffles menu, whilst clay pot chicken and the ‘Captain’s curry’ are highlights of the main courses. A selection of fine wines and liquors complement the bold menu flavours.
Try one of the exquisite Malaysian desserts, such as boozy pineapple soaked in dark rum, maple syrup and vanilla ice cream. Sip on a Singapore Sling before or after dinner in the sophisticated, elegant Raffles dining room, while the piano plays calmly in the background.
Raffles restaurant provides the ultimate refined experience in a grandly decorated setting. Stoneleigh Park and Warwick University are on its doorstep, and Warwick Castle is a 12-minute drive away.

We visited on a Saturday night and booked before hand as we thought it might be busy. When we arrived there was one other couple in the restaurant and a gentleman by himself.Another couple arrived and that was it, so we were expecting a good service. The waiter was doing a good job but it was over an hour before our starter came out and then 40mins before the second course arrived. We heard the first couple complain about the slow service and the second couple tell the waiter if there food didn't arrive in the next 2mins they would not be paying for the meal.We also complained about the slow service of food even though the restaurant was practically empty, not sure how they would cope with a full restaurant or how long you would have to wait then.
When the food came it was good, but the wait spoilt the evening, also there is no ambience in the restaurant at all.

We visited the Kenilworth Raffles restaurant but unfortunately at the time of booking we did not realise that the restaurant had moved again(the 2nd time in 5 years) so we turned up at the old premises to find it empty. We eventually located the restaurant after a phone call! Not a great start?!?!
The new premises are small and feel very much like you are shoved away in a back room! Not at all like the original restaurant premises that we loved??.
We chose the "Raffles Experience" but after choosing our starter, we waited 45 minutes for it to arrive! And although I appreciate that they were busy- the service seemed very dis-jointed and the 2 female servers seemed to not have much idea about the menus or service. I would like to mention that the male server who has worked at Raffles since the original premises was very attentive and really saved the day!! ????
I have to say that once we received our food it was excellent as always as were the drinks also! And we really could not fault the food in anyway- it was delicious!
It is such a shame that we have had to watch the slow demise of what was one of our 'favourite' restaurants from the beautiful quintessential old premises that really took you back to the colonial days and the service that was 2nd to none. The 'piano man' playing and a real dining experience.
It is with a heavy heart that we say we will probably not return again!! But thank you for all the good times we have had dining with you and we wish you good luck for the future(a very uncertain one I think?!?!)

We were disappointed with our meal as we had dined here before and it was exceptional. It seems to have gone down-market since then. Previously it was packed, this time there were just 6 diners on a Friday evening. The food was ok, but nothing special.
But on the plus side, it was good value for money. We had the package of 4 courses, with a Singapore Sling (one of our favourite drinks) to start, a bottle of wine between the 2 of us, a dessert wine, and liqueurs with our coffee. All for £39.50 a head. And then we had a discount as we were staying at the Peacock Hotel, their sister company. So full marks for value for money.

Food was really good. Well cooked, well presented and from an interesting menu. Service attentive and pleasant. Decor was sad and the place badly needs a refurbishment. A thorough spring clean would be a start. Some of the woodwork was quite grubby. The hotel reception appeared to be in the restaurant, which was wierd.
