A very pleasant experience. Very good waiting staff. The afternoon tea was lovely and the venue suits the name of boutique hotel.

I will be going back with my friend whom enjoyed her birthday treat immensely.

Overall the food was very good, however the toast that came with two dishes of chicken liver pate starter was very burnt. We were extremely surprised that this was seen as acceptable to serve as it was completely black. We were brought replacement toast when we asked, but it should not have been served in the first place. Also the dips served with the bread appetiser were a little bizarre. However the servers were friendly and helpful and the environment was pleasant.

The restaurant was not busy and had plenty of staff wandering around yet the service was incredibly slow. The "while you wait" starter took over 15 minutes to arrive and the main course a further 20 minutes. Heard other customers complaining about the poor service

We had afternoon tea which was average. I phoned ahead to say that two of our party didn't like smoked salmon which they said would be passed onto the kitchen but despite this the sandwiches arrived with smoked salmon on them!
The waitresses didn't seen terribly happy.

Service and food were excellent - food is a bit pricey and every little extra is charged for!

our party of 4 have eaten lunch here several times before - we think it has changed hands? Nice staff and atmosphere

Had a lovely relaxing Sunday lunch for two. House champagne was both delicious and good value by the glass as was the bottle of French white we had with the meal. Starters were excellent, especially my wife's scallops which were as good as we have ever tasted and well worth the small supplement. The Roast beefs were also good but if I was nit-picking the green beans were rather underdone and the roast potatoes lacked a crispy shell, although the cauliflower & broccoli cheese was superb, as was the Yorkshires. The 'melt in the middle' whisky chocolate pudding was really good, as was the brulee but it's accompanying shortbread was soft. All in all very good and I would say a strong 8, going on 9. Wet our appetite to try an evening meal one night.

Food is well prepared, reasonable portions but overpriced. We ordered bellinis, but the barstaff used champagne rather than prosecco ruining the flavour.

Very dissatisfied. Quality of food was awful, embarrassed on the behalf of our guests. Warm wine, food very disappointing. Wouldn't dine there again.
