1:30, great food, nice waitress, friendly staff. Five stars.

We had booked a table for 12.15 to give us plenty of time before a 2.30 matinee - and they still didn't mange to get two courses out in time, we had to rush to pay and run. The waitress's attitude started fierce, but she did her best to apologise once it was clear that the kitchen had messed up big time. My husband went to investigate - two of the mains were drying up under the warmer, with no sign of the other three dishes. When we kicked up a fuss the manager apologised and blamed lack of communication in the kitchen. The food was very average - I didn't finish my risotto. Downstairs waiting to use the loo - only two ladies loos for a restaurant that size - I met other dissatisfied customers. Although we were given a substantial discount on the meal, I still felt it was overpriced for what we had. Annoyingly, we had a bad experience there once before but assumed it was a one-off - we will never go again

Sat at 1700 Booked by email with notification of Tastecard. Response received which said Management would do all they could to accommodate my request. On arrival I was informed you did not accept Tastecard on Saturdays. This should have been advised to me at the time of booking. The booking was made for my husbands 50th birthday. The platter which he had was way over priced for the dish. It stated it was for two people. There was hardly enough food for one on the 2 plates which arrived. I would say that charges for the other dishes which were ordered by 3 other people were reasonable.

We went to this restaurant at 6.30pm last night, a Sunday evening for my mothers 73rd birthday treat. At first impression we were delighted by the decor and the attentive bar manager who escorted us to our waitress who promptly seated us in the comfortable booths as this was what we requested at the time of booking. Sadly this is where our enjoyable experience ended. We were told by our waitress that there neither any appetisers, bread or platters. This restricted our initial choice. Whne we received our food we noted that whilst the starter of the squid was tasty; we were dissapointed that we could not receive any bread to go with the dressing that was on the scallops. The risotto for the main was not as creamy as had been promised by our waitress. The main of the tuna was dull and lifeless. The tuna required some lemon at least to lift this, but the waitress was either too busy or had no desire to check if we were happy with our food. The saffron and wasabi mash that accompanied the tuna was dry and lacked any flavour. My mother would have enjoyed her chips has she of had some vinegar to dress this. Sadly this is nothing more than 'your one stop above your average fish and chip shop which passes itself off for more'. Needless to say we felt that the quality of the food was overpriced for what we received and did not wish to stick around for desert.

Our order was delivered wrong, the red wine was overly warm and fizzing, we were refused a more expensive wine for the same price, another bottle of wine was then brought to us icy cold, the staff were not willing to empathise. We wanted to pay in part using Tesco vouchers but were provided with the wrong menu and were then refused. We asked for the manager and were provided with a senior waiter, we then asked for the restaurant manager and described our overall experience. We felt he was confontational. After some reluctance he made amends with our bill but did not provide an apology. This experience left us with a 'bad experience' and spoilt the memory of a wonderful visit to the same restaurant last year.

Early evening dinner (6.30) full enough to be interesting but plenty of room. Waitress was excellent even though we couldn't understand her accent. We ordered our favourites but kept wanting what everyone else was having - it looked so good, especially the lobster platter. Will definitely return for that. Friendly place, we found ourselves chatting to other diners.

We arrived late at this restaurant as Google Maps put us a good 1/4 mile away using the postcode. It was by searching for the Lyceum Theatre that we actually found the restaurant. We were shown to our table & there was only one other table occupied in the restaurant at 12:30pm, 30 minutes after opening. The décor was reminiscent of an old chip shop but the fresh fish display was quite eye-catching. We were given a single A La Carte menu to select our food from &, for a family of five, [$]for fish & chips seemed a bit on the pricey side. By the time we had all ordered our bill was almost £80 plus drinks. When we asked for our bill we then got the sting in the tail as we had not noticed the 12.5% service charge plus 10% for credit card transactions adding a stonking 25% onto our bill!!! This left us pretty much gutted on leaving the restaurant & then one of my children pointed to a sign outside the door advertising two main courses for [$]. My wife & I could not understand why we were not offered this menu to choose from. Also, compared to the fish & chips option, the more expensive Main Course options all seemed much smaller. Overall, not an enjoyable experience.
