Kiin Kiin in Nørrebro, Copenhagen, is one of the world’s very few Thai restaurants with a Michelin star. It has also received excellent reviews, with more or less all of the major Danish food critics giving Kiin Kiin their highest praise.

The duo behind Kiin Kiin are Lertchai and Henrik Yde-Andersen. Henrik is well-know for his role as a judge on the TV programme MasterChef and for having been invited by the Thai princess to open a Thai restaurant in Bangkok – an extraordinary achievement for a non-Thai person.

Lertchai and Henrik’s approach to Thai food is modern and refined, with a 9-course menu that will lead you on a remarkable culinary experience. Add to this a cosy and modern Thai interior as well as reasonable price levels and you will know why it is one of Copenhagen’s most popular restaurants.

Kiin Kiin is located on Nørrebro in Copenhagen, a 10-15-minute walk from Nørreport Metro station.

    Overall impression was good, the service was good but from time to time a bit hectic. The snack area was a little to busy and stressffull after our taste but the snacks was excellent. All waiters gave a great service, maybe a little improvement in wineknowledge for some of the waiters

    Fantastisk service og atmosfære.
    Man blev efterhånden klar over hvordan det kan være svært at få en Michelin-stjerne på en thailandsk restaurant. Smagene er meget ens og det er svært at finde vine der komplimentere retten helt perfekt.
    Kiin Kiin har virkelig præsteret over alle forventninger. Dog vil jeg anbefale juicemenuen i stedet for vin, da jeg personligt synes at de kompimenterer retterne meget bedre!

    We were really looking forward. The beginning is a lot better than the main courses, the wine arrived after we were done with the dish

    Lovely evening. You certainly created a great atmosphere that was attentive without being overly formal. Lovely dishes all round. However - a few comments:
    1) for the "svineskank" the accompaniments were among other things a buttery mushroom mousse + shitake mushrooms. To us it seemed odd to pair a fatty and flavorful meat with another taste of, well, the same: umami and fat. We could have done with something a bit more acid and crunchy to contrast.
    2) wine serving: we had 3 glasses of wine, 1 with the first dish. Then one more with the 4th dish and the last glass with the 5th dish. So this meant that we in effect had to rush drinking glass no 2 to be able to drink the third glass along with the main course. This could have been distributed better.
