Accredited with a Michelin Star for its excellent cuisine, Gavroche is a French country restaurant in the city, with a rustic, down to earth atmosphere and an informal feel throughout.
The restaurant is named after Gavroche, the "Gamin de Paris" in Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, a character who holds a special place in the heart of owner Camelia Cassin. The chef has created a menu that brings 'cuisine de terroir', the traditional specialities of the French countryside, to New York City, ranging from Bouillabaisse and Braised Lamb Shank to Warm Goat's Cheese Tart.
The delicious menus and comfortable setting have earned Gavroche positive press in publications such as The New York Times, Vanity Fair and the Michelin restaurant guide.
