Serving sustainable seafood in the heart of Glasgow, Gamba has earned 2 AA Rosettes for its exciting menu.
Focussing on locally sourced produce, the Gamba menu is led by fresh seafood dishes, but also showcases flavourful meat and vegetarian options. Try hand-dived king scallops with cauliflower and parmesan purée, truffle oil and black pudding, or fresh Isle of Gigha halibut with mussels, crabmeat, garden peas, red pepper cream and crispy capers. Elsewhere on the menu, find barley risotto with parmesan and pesto, or roast breast of duck with spring greens, ginger, turnip mash, chilli, honey and soy.
An extensive wine list complements the menu at Gamba restaurant Glasgow, whilst indulgent desserts and a selection of cheese boards offer a sublime end to the meal. With a nautical theme, blue glass windows and a colourful seafood mural adorning the wall create a bright, laid-back setting.
Centrally located, Gamba Glasgow is a 6-minute walk from Glasgow Central Train Station.

Gamba had been on my list to try and some birthday vouchers helped that happen. We turned up much earlier than booked (after checking) and no one else was eating, so it was actually very quiet. Ambience and feel was very attractive and top end but 'moody dark' at our table (under fish fresco) so quite tricky to read menu; blamed my eyes actually (it was my 50th that I got the vouchers for after all). That didn't stop us choosing well, including the wine. The chef nailed it all, especially my wife's sole on the bone. It was a generous size of fish, but a bit lonely in the butter. Just missing a garnish, such as a sprinkle of brown shrimp. I am being picky but you did ask! The lemon she had had next to no juice. It was quite dry, maybe just needed a roll before cutting. My mackerel had a nice crispy edge to the skin and I had to slow my self from eating the lot too quick. I must say though the taste just got better and more delicious as I munched. I was hoping for a more obvious presence of the Norwegian prawns but they were quite small and few. But heh these are tiny issues. On a reassuring note we jumped at the chance of a 'whisky dinner' and booked in. We could definitely read that. See you again.

Beautiful little restaurant, welcomed as soon as we walked through the door. Offered the most beautiful canapés after we had sat down. The yellowtail tuna starter was amazing and the wasabi was like nothing I had tasted before, 5*. Then came the main, lobster thermador, cooked to perfection and absolutely gorgeous. Can this be topped? Yes! For dessert I had the warm chocolate and cherry brownie and this was to die for. Would I return again? 100% Best food I've had in ages.

This was my 2nd visit to Gamba and like the first time, it certainly did not disappoint! The staff are very friendly and efficient, we got a lovely little smoked mackerel tartlet when we got to the table and a choice of freshly baked rolls. The white wine we had was served perfectly chilled. I enjoyed the fish soup so much that I had to order it this time too, again it was superb, piping hot and so full of flavour, we all had the same. Main courses were also delicious, I had the sea bream, it was cooked perfectly and the salad with it was lovely. My husband had the sole, said on the menu it was simple and it was but still very tasty. The rooster chips were nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. Our daughter had the confit of duck and it was devine but quite rich, needed the side of vegetables to accompany it. We just had one dessert, the frozen chocolate cake, it was delicious and the fudge served with the coffee was too! Excellent value for money (we had the pre-theatre menu), I will definitely go back.

Had 2 course lunch menu. Excellent food, service. No idea, how the restaurants make win for the cheap menu's?! Location Subground level had been elegant decorated but too dark on a sunny day. Would prefer a brighter restaurant wirh view instead. Must be ok for dinner. It is just around the Blythswoood Square Hotel and 100 yards walking distance from Buchanan Street.

We had an excellent meal. Prompt and friendly service. No complaints. Value for money although more than ten quid for a glass of Sancerre is a bit steep. But don't mind paying good money for good experience. In my view this is probably the best fish restaurant in Glasgow.

Went to Gamba for lunch with one companion. We both love fish, and were not disappointed. The generous portion of fish soup was unusual and delicious. We were given a choice of rolls, and the fig ones we chose were also unusual and tasty. We both enjoyed our main courses of bream and cod, and the chunky chips we shared. The coffee came with complimentary small chunks of Scottish tablet. The service was also excellent.

Good mix of open clusters of tables as well as more discrete booths.

Fantastic food, a must visit for fish lovers. The muscle stew starter deserves a special mention but all our food was excellent
