Fantastic food, fantastic service. Great value. Just sorry the Langoustine Ravioli was not on the lunch menu!

The food was very good, as was the wine by the glass. I drank a syrah.

However, the experience was one of the worst in a long time. We were at a very small table beside the till....not so nice. it was the gathering station for any unbusy staff. The table next to us, and very closely so was occupied by two individuals who seemed to be friends of the house, judging by the exchanges between them and the staff.. There was nothing that they said that escaped unnoticed. Our own conversation was reduced to nearly zero as we seemed forced to be part of this other loud close-by ensemble. The restaurant overall was noisy, and that seemed out of keeping for the quality of food, and especially for the cost.

In consequence of our experience, we just wanted to be out, away from the noise and intensity. We ate two courses, and didn't want to stay a second longer. We left 40 minutes after arriving and that seemed too long too. It was an expensive experience at £142 for two in a space that was determinably uncomfortable. Overall, we went there to spend an evening of easy conversation, something that in the end was impossible to the point that we could not get out quick enough. That was a shame, as the food was good enough to linger over.

We had a fantastic lunch at Elystan Street, the food, the dining room, the front of house, the whole experience was excellent! Well done to Phil Howard and his team, I'm sure the restaurant will be a great success.

Excellent food and service though the extent of hard surfaces caused the noise level to be a little intrusive.

Overall very good experience, few minor notes to mention. Sunday lunch menu on website states bloody mary, however this was not received or offered. Also with bread service they came with a basket of 2 slices first time around which was a bit odd as afterwards they came around with larger variety. Drinks service was a bit slow, we were set with empty glasses for a while. Food was great, Strozzapretti was sublime and lives the little carpaccio on the side. Avocado & Crab salad was very well balanced. Beef was nicely cooked, cod I personally found slightly bland, but my wife thought it was great.

Excellent meal and service. Unfortunately the restaurant was very noisy, partly because of the lack of carpet or tablecloths, which made conversation difficult.

Nice room, attentive service, food was excellent if a little expensive, very good wine list with fair pricing, excellent bread, missed something sweet to compliment the coffee

We had a good filling lunch, but we were disappointed overall as there was nothing that blew us away or gave us the wow factor which we had expected from a Philip Howard restaurant. Some elements (the langoustine bisque and the braised beef shin) were too salty: it is inexcusable for such food to be released from the pass by a chef of Howard's calibre. My Dexter rib of beef, though, was beautiful.
The lack of canapés/amuse bouches and petit fours (with coffee) made me feel, overall, that the lunch was overpriced at £50.
Waiting staff need to be trained to meet the expectations of high end diners. I do not expect to have to ask (on two occasions) for the appropriate cutlery with which to eat my food (eg. a spoon for the bisque).
The Chilean Cab Sauv we had was very pleasant indeed. Espresso afterwards was a touch bitter. One thing which really perplexed me was that the mineral water we ordered came in a clear carafe, like tap water would. Why? How does that improve the customer experience?
